I didn’t INTEND to take the comic into hiatus right here. It WILL return, I’m just not sure when. I’m going to shoot for sometime this month (February), but not within the first two weeks. I have too many things to get done. (Most of what’s been in the way of updating has been doctors visits and other similarly fun things.) The comic IS supposed to go on hiatus, but not until the end of this arc.
Today’s update will update late. I still have to letter it. I’m being slowed down by a minor bit of soreness.
There appear to be a few comics missing, will find them tomorrow and hopefully get updates going again. We’re on a new server, new installation and everything looks ok … even if the archives are schitzophrenic.

Welcome to the new and improved Abby’s Agency, now complete with new features such as a bookmark to keep your place in the archives, art gallery, … ACTUAL commentable updates! And places for both Mark and I to easily make posts without uploading webpages.
When we started Abby’s Agency, one of the things that I was really interested in developing was some kind of reader role playing opportunity. Abby’s Agency is about the office workers behind the scenes of your favorite spy adventure, only a couple of actual WSA agents have been introduced in the comic. So I always wanted to give you, the readers, an opportunity to become the field operatives for the World Star Agency and develop the fan community around a role playing opportunity. I just never got around to it.
Fortunately the guys over at Snakehead Games have made that dream a possibility. Spy Battles 2165 is a role playing game where you become a spy and can join the WSA or any one of a number of other factions to travel the globe in search of intrigue and adventure. You have the opportunity to build and develop your character as you go on covert operations, gamble, and attack enemy agents. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Okay, I have a confession to make. I wrote this current storyline to conclude on Election day. However my estimations seem to be off. It’s set to conclude on December 4th instead of November 4th. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I need to take full blame for this one.
The good news is that I had written 2 endings depending on who won the election, but by December it’s going to be pretty obvious who won (I hope).
I’m heading off to Comic Con!Â
I’ll be appearing at the Keenspot booth so please stop by and say “hello”. I’ll have both Abby’s Agency books as well as bookmarks and postcards. I’ll also have some Zortic books and ETI-PI fliers. We’re still working on trying to get Tiffany and I to appear together sometime soon!
Just got back from seeing Get Smart and I loved it! I can’t say that it’s the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, or the best action movie I’ve ever seen. But it is the funniest action movie AND the most action filled comedy I’ve ever seen. And if you know your Get Smart trivia, there are ALOT of references in the movie… And at least one Abby’s Agency reference!!! See if you can spot it!
Until Abby’s ready to go again (and there is some GREAT stuff coming soon), you might want to check out my new comic. If you like Abby’s Agency, I’m sure you’ll like ETI-PI. While the Worldstar Conglomerate is an example of a “successful” organization, the “Extra Terrestrial Intelligence-Private Investigators” are stuggling to find out what’s out there. Catch up now while it’s still new!
So not only do you all get a chance to get to know me through this blog, but Tiffany’s new site allows my original scripts to appear under the strip. So you’re going to get an extra chance to see how Tiffany and I work together. I’m both excited and intimidated by this.Â
I carry around a PDA which I use to jot down my ideas where ever I am. Once I have a bunch finished, I collect a group of them and send them off to Tiffany. She’s the one that puts the final coat of polish on it. Unfortunately it’s not much of a high end computer for things like spell and grammar check, even the format is a little primative. So please keep your laughter aimed at the strip and not my script.
Hello everyone! Thanks to Tiffany’s great new page design, I get to join in on the blogging. I’ve never been much of a blogger, so hopefully this will be an excellent opportunity for all of us to get to know one another a bit better. Hopefully I won’t do too much meaningless rambling.
For those that don’t know me, I’m Mark Mekkes, I’m the writer for Abby’s Agency. I also do the comic Zortic, and am part of the Web Cartoonists’ Choice Awards and Podwarp 1999 (speaking of which, I did slip an Abby’s Agency plug into the normal SciFi discussion last week).
