Title: 484

Strip 484 (Abby is having an intimate conversation with Brian) ABBY                     So, you got some gifts for Brittany’s baby shower? BRIAN                   Yup, they’re all set.   ABBY                     And you got them from your usual suppliers? BRIAN                   Oh yeah, they were eager to help out.   ABBY                     The same place that you get all of the spy gadgets and weapons for our agents? BRIAN                   Why not, they have a pretty wide variety of products.   ABBY                     And you don’t see anything wrong with that? BRIAN                   Approved corporate vendors are approved corporate vendors.

  1. wow he is not good at taking a hint, good thing he is not a field agent.

  2. Why is there such a problem with the normal suppliers? Has no one ever heard of corporate diversification? To quote RAH “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” Corporations are the same way, if you specialize, you die, regardless of what you usually manufacture.

  3. They’re just not getting it, are they?

Let’s hope that their suppliers really are one of those ‘superbusinesses’ (no pun intended) that also does floral arrangements and dog grooming.
